Extrusion Quality Engineer

Toyoda Gosei Fluid Systems (TGFS) is looking for an Extrusion Quality Engineer to join our team!

As an Extrusion Quality Engineer you will be responsible for leading quality initiatives in the extrusion department for current and new products, product launches, engineering orders, service orders, etc. You will also be managing projects for implementation of new gaging and inspection methods.

Required Skills/abilities for application:

  • Advanced knowledge, understanding and application of SPC
  • Thorough understanding of IATF and quality systems & processes to ensure company and customer standards are met
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all team members and external parties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Must be result-driven
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able read, understand and interpret blue prints
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability and effectively participate and contribute to team projects
  • Knowledge of defects in safety-critical parts

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance to customer requirements, including IATF and other compliance
  • Lead quality-related IATF requirements in extrusion area
  • Lead coordination of containment for non-conforming product
  • Interpret R&R studies and CP/CPK calculations and apply information to optimize processes
  • Lead and coordinate trials, take measurements and analyze lab results
  • Responsible for PPAP of New Products and customer driven product ECNs
  • Responsible for quality non-conformance processes for new programs
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production on the development of new programs and engineering changes to existing mass production parts
  • Create and revise Part Control Plan, PFMEA and Product Quality Standard for assigned parts
  • Supervise studies to determine cause, effect and the corrective measures required to remedy deviations impairing desirable standards of quality
  • Assist with annual validations and PPAP
  • Ensure completion of 1st piece verifications, job set-up sheets, and tube verifications
  • Maintain surveillance over inspection services for extrusion
  • Implement and maintain bench laser link
  • Initiate corrective action using a multi-disciplined team
