Chemical Engineer Co-Op

Job Summary:

Toyoda Gosei Fluid Systems (TGFS) is looking for a Chemical Engineer Co-Op to join our team!

The Chemical Engineer Co-Op will provide product development and testing support to our in-house laboratory as well as working side by side with our R&D team.

Core competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Education:

  • Understanding quality systems and processes within department to ensure company and customer standards are met (on-the-job training provided)
  • Understanding how to review assembly and tube drawings, including specification call-outs and required testing. (on-the-job training provided)
  • Developing project management skills
  • Design of Experiment knowledge and how to apply within the production setting. (on-the-job training)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all team members and external parties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Develop Technical writing skills
  • Must be a results-driven, self-motivated individual.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Actively pursuing a Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Active goal setting and review throughout each semester
  • Able to receive and implement constructive criticism, growth mindset

Major Accountabilities:

  • Must demonstrate behaviors that support TGFS’ mission, vision, and core values
  • Ensure safety and quality are at or above company standards
  • Work closely with PPP, Engineering, Extrusion and Production on the development of new constructions/trials and engineering changes to existing mass production parts.
  • Support TG policies and procedure adherence
  • Ensure training requirements are met on-time
  • Follow Stop, Call, Wait (SCW)
  • Any additional duties as assigned by manager

Working Conditions:

  • 50% office, 50% plant floor/Lab
  • Must work scheduled hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.

Safety & PPE Requirements on the plant floor:

  • Glasses required in production areas
  • Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes required
  • Hair reaching shoulder length must be secured behind head in production areas

At TGFS you can expect 20 hours of paid personal leave each working semester, and eligibility to participate in our 401(k) plan.

Pay Range: $19.31 to $23.43 dependent upon class standing.
